Spring Busyness.

They say there's nothing in life that's either good or bad, it's just our attitude towards it.....and Seasons are like that aren't they. Now l LOVE Spring.....it's awesome after a long Winter to have warmer days and sunshine...and FLOWERS after months of nothing....but Spring also comes with hay fever, and male MAGPIES... l copped a stealth attack on my walk yesterday that almost re-parted my hairline as it lurched in for the kill.....When my daughter was young l remember her returning from a ride pretty shaken up, and with a perfect beak shaped hole pierced into her bike helmet...!! Who knows it could even be the same magpie since it happened in almost the same spot and they live for around 25 years.

The past few days l've forced myself to do a bit of Spring cleaning.... well more tidying and sorting really.....Way too much stuff has been coming in and not enough stuff has been going out but this morning l was able to load up the car and take quite a few bags off to the opshop, and l feel heaps better that it's gone.....There's still a bit of excess furniture but l'm working on getting that out too.
.....anyway..it hasn't been all work, l've also been dying fabrics, sewing and painting, and have also been out and about doing some non-retail therapy (junking) which is where l came across this fantastic set of Ralph Lauren scent bottles from the 80's. They're totally my thing but l was strong and took them straight out to the Mill to be sold....wah!!

Son's old room is now the guest room, white linens, and a few new additions to the wall for a change. The once white (and flaking) basket was updated with a coat of silver spray paint.
This is a couple of the washy Spring paintings l did and a cushion l sewed.

Hope you're all having a great weekend whatever you're up to.....thanks again for stopping in.

Til next time,

Bron.

  2. Oh my, I didn't know Magpie's attacked people like that! How scary, makes me think of the Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds. I love those little bottles, they would be hard to part with! Love the tape you used to hang up your lovely artwork:) Such beauty!

I really need to do a de-clutter too, especially since we know we're moving in a year. Our downstairs neighbors moved out last week and, by the end of it, they were just throwing stuff in the dumpsters...I don't want to be in that situation when we move! I'd much rather take it to the Goodwill or something.

Enjoy your Spring weather and hopefully the Magpie's don't bother you too much!!!

    1. Oh l saw that movie too when l was young and l had a fear of crows for years afterwards.....weren't they horrific. Yeah l really loved those bottles and they would have looked so pretty on my dressing table but on the up side hopefully someone else with love them and enjoy them too.....how lovely to have the benefit of knowing you will be moving in a year, you have time on your side to assess all your lovely pretties and know if you want them to go with you or not....l'm dreading if we ever move from here, it'll be a nightmare after 21 years of two people who are maximalists..haha!!...Thanks so much for your lovely comment Victoria and l hope you have an awesome week.

  4. Wow, you're a talented lady! Your paintings are exquisite and the cushion you made is gorgeous. It's all so soft and dreamy and romantic, beautiful! Wishing you a beautiful Spring day! (It's Autumn here, quite a different view.) And oh dear, before I forget, your story of the magpie sounds like a Halloween story, brrr!

  6. You have been busy! And everything looks so Fresh, Dreamy and Inviting! We too are downsizing and taking donations to the Op Shops, it does feel good to clear out the excess and start afresh. Now that we have a new Home I was ready for major change inside the Home as well and evolve my Style a bit to enhance this Tuscan Styled Architecture, which is so different than our Old Historic Home, so it's been Fun to pick out some new Furnishings to go with the New Home! 7. It looks gorgeous in that bedroom!! I love the fresh look of white and pink together. The duvet cover is so beautiful. We banished the Magpies with a windsock last year after they threw out one of their babies from the nest to die on the ground. After having to take care of that I was so mad! So I am never letting them come nest again. They're punished! Enjoy your Spring!
